Terrible Two's

Well we have definitely hit the terrible 2's at the age of 19mo. I feel like the last 3 days I have spanked Parker at least once a day if not more. This morning when I woke up, I had the scary thought that this is probably just the beginning-----oh my!!!

Last friday, Parker climbed out of his babybed for the 1st time and then he has done it every morning and a naptime since. One of my girlfriends suggested that I lower the babybed---I laughed an told her we lowered it to the bottom back when Parker was 9 mo. old. Her comment after that was "oh". So I had to put up a baby gate outside his room so he will not come barrelling down the stairs to find us. This has worked so far, keep your fingers crossed. At naptime I have threatened to spank him if he crawls out of the bed and this has worked. I'm trying to delay the toddler bed as long as possible because then there is really no containing him. I guess this is what happens when you have a little one that is a climber and has no fear!

I have included a few pictures of our Halloween fun we have been having lately.

Mary Grace's Birthday

Last Saturday was my niece, Mary Grace, birthday. She turned the big "3" and we had a tea party with just the girls. Let me tell you, that if you have never been to a birthday party with just girls then there is a HUGE difference. It was so calm, organized, quiet and sweet. All the little girls sat at the tables, ate, had tea(really pink lemonade) and played dress up. Never in my life have I experienced such a sight.
Later that night we had a family celebration so the boys could get in on the action.

Craziness

What a crazy Sunday!
First we got a call from my sister Stacy. David was hit head-on by a car while riding his bicycle and was rushed to the hospital. That was all I knew at the time. Then later Sunday night our dog Reagan had another seizure which sent John and I over the edge again. Then after settling down from that my phone beeped and I got a text from my sister. David was out of surgery and in ICU recovering. So after all that who could sleep.

But thankfully today we got word that David is ok internally and no damage of the head. His arm will have to have more surgeries over time but the prognosis is 100% recovery.

We thank God for this wonderful news!!! Please remember him and Stacy in your prayers.

John is taking the dog back to the specialist on Wed. for an MRI of the brain. Will keep you posted on this.

Update on Reagan

Well as you most already know, our dog Reagan had a seizure several weeks ago. We took him to our regular vet about 2 weeks ago and she ran extensive tests on him. We found out this past week that Reagan has a huge mass/tumor in his abdomen. He is scheduled to go to an internal vet specialist over in Mandeville, LA on this Wed., so we will know more after that. They will do an ultrasound and biopsy the tumor. So then we can make a decision based on what we find out---can the tumor be removed and life go on as normal or is it cancer and has it spread. John and I have been saddened by this all week. Reagan is our "1st child" and has become such big buddies with Parker(it may be due to the fact that Parker feeds him all the time though). I will let you all know what is going on as soon as we find out this week.

GO REBS!!!!

I just have to give a "shout out" to my Rebels. Unless you live under a rock, you know that they beat Florida on Saturday. In the words of my sister----Ole Miss had a great week, with the debate on Friday and then beating 4th ranked Florida on Saturday. I definitely have to agree Stacy.

Hotty Toddy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Birthday Fun

Last weekend we had 2 birthday parties and this weekend we had 1. It is that time of year, but Parker loves going to them. I have enclosed pictures taken at my friend Shelley's son's birthday. Parker is loving the baby pool she had set up for the little kids, grass and all.

Our Dog Reagan

Today we had a huge scare. Reagan our 9 yr. old german sheperd and 1st baby of the Felsher household had a seizure. It was terrible and really freaked John and I out. John was pretty hysterical, he kept telling me Reagan was dying in his arms.

I had 2 birthday parties to attend with Parker so John took Reagan to the ER vet that is open on weekends since our regular vet had already closed for the day. They ran blood work and did x-rays but didn't find anything too abnormal. The vet said to just watch him and if he has another one we may want to do further testing.

We were relieved to know that Reagan seems to be ok, but are still a little anxious in knowing that a seizure sometimes is the indication of a bigger problem.

I am thankful that today wasn't the day for the end of our wonderful dog Reagan!

1st Haircut

I finally gave in and did it----------Parker's 1st haircut. I do admit that the bangs were hanging in his eyes but I didn't want the precious curls to go away. I love the blond curly hair!!! I called Tina, the girl that cuts my hair, and asked her to PLEASE cut Parker's hair. I wasn't sure if she even did kids hair, but she said yes and today was the day.

I knew he wouldn't scream or cry, but I wasn't sure if he would sit still. He really surprised me and did great. It may have helped that I gave him a sucker during the process, but whatever works.

He still has his curls but the bangs are better and just a little trim was all Tina did.

We also started Kindermusik this week and he loved it. I am excited about this weekly outing for the both of us. He loves the other children and loves music so it is a great fit.

Parker loves to play with balls and is throwing them along with everything else. I have been trying to work on the NOT THROWING THINGS but today was "the straw that broke the camels back". We were at the Children's museum for Bear Club(which is very similar to Mother Goose programs at the library) and Parker threw a toy and hit a baby, can I say a baby, in a carrier. I was mortified and the mom looked at me like I had a demon child. Of course I yanked Parker up immediately and tried to apologize to the mom. So now the new rule is that there is NO throwing in the house PERIOD, only outside. And like I told Parker this afternoon, if he throws in the house, he will get a spankin. Geez!!!!

So, So Sorry

Summertime fun!!! Eating lots and lots of popsicles, chasing Reagan everywhere and riding my new 4-wheeler! I guess it doesn't get much better than all that.

I know it has been forever since I last blogged. I am reminded that there are those out there that read my blog, especially when I get asked if I updated it this week. Well here it goes.

I have been so busy, which doesn't really make since, because unlike some of you I don't have a little one starting school but some how my time has gotten away from me. Last Wed. was my Dad's birthday so Parker and I went up to New Albany to surprise him. He had hernia surgery a couple of weeks ago and is still sore and wasn't up to coming to the coast to visit us. I was reminded by the grandparents that it had been too long since they had seen Parker! I was really worried about the 5 1/2 hr. trip up there by myself with Parker. Yes, I had done it before, but not at this BUSY stage of his little life. THE CHILD DOESN'T SIT STILL!!!!! So I asked so many of ya'll to pray for me on Wed. and they all were answered. Parker did very well. He only slept about 1.5 hrs out of the 5.5 but the rest of the time I spent handing back toys, food, candy and a sippy cup. Whatever works, I say!!!

We stayed in New Albany until Friday evening and then headed to Columbus which is 1.5 hrs. away to visit my Nanny. She is having problems with her knee and needed a little cheering up. We were surprised to also have my cousin Jay and his precious wife Rebecca also come to Columbus for the weekend so we got to visit with them too. Parker and I headed home on Sat. afternoon and thankfully he slept the majority of the way home.

Well as you all must know, unless you live in a box, there is a storm out there. Friday is the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina the this storm is headed our way for Monday. Still waiting until this weekend to make a decision on what to do---I hate evacuating but want to be safe. Of course John is insisting we evacuate and he will stay back. I don't like that idea either but he usually wins out. I was headed to Stacy's this weekend to help her unpack her kitchen and closets of her new house. Since I am very OCD she asked for my help. So instead of me heading up without Parker(daddy duty was gonna happen)I may have him with me. I will keep everyone posted.

Dog Days Of Summer

I can't believe summer is almost over----yes, I know the weather doesn't feel like it is coming to an end. With all the kids starting back to school last week or this week, that always signals me to the end of summertime.

We had a great summer of '08----hope each of you did as well. With visiting the beach twice, spending time with family and friends and all the days at the pool, playground, and splash-pad park, we had a great time, but I am just a little excited to get back into a routine. You know, I love routine!!!

Parker is starting Mother's Mornings Out at Bay Vista Baptist Church the 1st week in September. It is only 2 mornings a week for a few hours but I am excited about the oppurtunity. He loves other kids and I know this will be good for him as well as good for Momma.

I have been packing up all my baby bottles, baby clothes and other baby items to pass along to my sister. See is due the end of February and has gottem rid of alot of her baby stuff! While going back through all the items I was a little sad but the feeling quickly passed. I will have to admit (hope this doesn't make me a bad momma) but I really didn't enjoy that "whole baby stage". I enjoy the age Parker is at right now so much more. He has so much fun each and everyday and LOVES his MOMMA!!! I can definitely say the feeling is mutual.

Parker at 15mo.

This is the new picture we got taken of Parker. The were supposed to be for his 1 year but momma was a little tardy and the time got away from me, but he was cutier at this stage anyway!

Crazy Summer Days!!!

Well we just got back from another great trip to the beach----I could totally live down there. I know y'all are thinking you do live on the coast, but the MS coast just isn't like the Floriday coast----you can't beat that crystal blue water!!!!

This was the annual trip my whole family takes to the beach each summer so it was: my parents, Stacy and her kiddos, and Parker and I. David was able to come down for the weekend, but John was working.

Most of you that check my blog also check my sister's, but in case you haven't heard yet---I'm going to be an aunt again. Stacy is pregnant with Seago baby #3----bless her. She is due the end of February and has decided not to find out the sex. She figures with one of each, this time let it be a surprise. We say the more the merrier.

I didn't take any pictures while on vacation (it is really hard to do while chasing around a 16mo. old), but luckily Stacy took alot. So I will post them when they are pasted along to me.

Hope summer has been GRAND for all of y'all too.

4th of July

Not only was the 4th of July a celebration of America's birthday but it is also Aunt Crystal's birthday. We ate at Outback, had ice cream at Bop's, then headed back to Kevin & Crystal's house to shoot fireworks. It was a fun night and Parker even stayed up until 9:30---which is amazing considering he usually goes to bed around 7:30.

Beth Moore Conference

WOW!!! What an awesome experience we had at The Deeper Still Conference in Atlanta the end of June. I think most of y'all know of Beth Moore, but 2 other amazing ladies were there too: Priscilla Shirer and Kay Arthur. The weekend was a much needed break-away from being a mommy and really rejevinated my spirit. These 3 ladies have so much insight into God's word and if you every get the chance to hear any one of them speak---don't hesitate to go! It was also a nice girl's weekend-----Mom, Stacy, Nanny and myself.\

We were reminded this weekend the mess Our Nation has gotten ourselves into. We have strayed soooooooooooooooo far from "One Nation Under God" that it is scary. Kay spoke of what happens when a nation forgets God and turns to evil-----it was really scary to hear from the Bible what God will do and even scarier to realize that America is headed in this direction. With the 4th of July still fresh on our minds, let's all remember to pray daily for our Nation and come November, remember to vote!!!!!

Vacation

Just got back from a week in Destin. It was a much needed time away from life at home. My family joined us at different intervals along the week, and fun was definitely had by all. This was Parker real 1st time at the beach. We went last summer but at 2 1/2 months old there wasn't alot he did but sleep. He loved the beach and the ocean. And of course loved seeing his cousins.

Parker at 14mo.

Here are a few adorable pictures of Parker playing outside, which is usually most of the day, everyday!!! He is eating Nilla Wafers so that is what is stuck in his mouth. Everyday I realize how blessed I am to have this wonderful little boy in my life and to be able to be his mom. He is truly a JOY.

There has been alot of heartache and pain going on and in the lives of many of those around me lately. But through it all, God is reminding me HE IS FAITHFUL and GOOD. I remember that praise song so many of us sing at church.....God is Good, All the time.....And all the time, God is Good. We do serve a Big and Mighty God that didn't just create the world but also cares about each one of us and hurts when we hurt.

Rhea's Birthday

Today is Rhea's birthday. For those of you that don't know who that is, well she is really John's cousin, Chris' wife, but inside of Chris and John considering themselves cousin, they refer to each other as brothers-----------so I refer to Rhea as my sister-in-law. The Felsher clan went out to dinner, which usually happens to celebrate a birthday milestone, this past Friday night at Ruth's
Chris Steakhouse in the Hard Rock Casino. The food was great and we all had a fun night!!!

Mother's Day

My internet connection was down for awhile so sorry this Mother's Day blog is so late in coming.
Mother's Day weekend was very special. On that Friday, there was a surprise retirement party at the school for my mom. Some of her old students put on a program that was so touching and meaningful. I think we all cried, and of course my mom cried too. The students said such amazing things about Mom not just as a teacher but as a "friend" that always listened to them and was caring! That is definitely the woman we know as Mom or Boppie to the grandkids. She is such a blessing from God.
On Saturday, my aunt Anne, uncle Pat, Nanny, cousin Jay and his wife Rebecca came over for a family cookout. We had a good time of family fellowship and the kiddos of course had a ball.
Mother's Day seemed so much more special to me this year than last. I'm not sure why considering the last one was "my 1st", but maybe because Parker was only 2 mo. old and I was still in a "fog" or who knows why. But this one was great. I got a little emotional on Sunday morning, thinking about the awesome gift God gave me of being a Mom and what a huge task I have to live up to. But I am truly blessed with a beautiful little boy that makes my heart smile every single day.
Check my sister's blog out for more pictures, I was chasing around a very active 14mo. old so I didn't get as many shots as I would have liked. You can get to her link from the site on the left of my blog page.

Junior Auxiliary Gala

This past Saturday night was our annual Junior Auxiliary Gala. For those of you that are not familiar with JA, it is just like Junior League but for smaller cities/towns. It was held at the Beau Rivage so it was gorgeous!!

We all know that us girls like to get dressed up every once in awhile and go out on the town, and for what better reason than a fundraiser for the kids. I even think the husbands had a good time after all was said and done.

2 HOT CHICKS----me and my sister-in-law, Crystal

Still couldn't get a smile out of John, but he was havin' fun

Been A Long Time, I Know!

It has been forever since I blogged. I think I have been really busy, but looking back over the time, I'm not quite sure what was going on. Parker is so full of life and is such a HAPPY child. He is a bundle of evergy and always smiling. He loves the outdoors, so no matter if it is just in the backyard, strolling the neighborhood, or playing at the park he never wants to come inside. I also love it outside, so I am glad he does as well. Below are a few new pictures from the park----He loves the big-kid slide and anything to climb on. The swings are not his favorite, I think because he doesn't like to be confined.

John is really channeling his inner child or definitely making up for all the toys he didn't get as a child. He seems to come home with something new every week and of course, Parker loves it. The latest is the pictures on the bottom----a battery-operated bumper car. Parker can actually move it around, even though he isn't quite sure what he is doing. He runs into everything in the house or just gets to turning round and round in a circle, until I get nauseous and make him stop!

I have started purging some of the old toys, especially the ones that are too young for him and he no longer plays with------or our house would be a toy factory. I guess the saying..............Boys and their toys..............is so true!!!!!

Exciting times

I forgot to let everyone know but Parker has been officially off the bottle for about 2 weeks. How nice not to wash them anymore or have to buy formula. I was worried the nightime would be hard but he is such a trooper that he hasn't even skipped a beat!

He is also really walking now. There are still moments of crawling and falling down but those are getting smaller everyday.

My baby boy is turning into a little boy right before my eyes. I thank God everyday for this wonderful blessing he has brought into my life. The world looks so much brighter through his eyes.

Definitely ALL Boy!

Parker is definitely all boy! He loves to play outside, get dirty and is always full steam ahead. He makes me laugh everyday and when that cute little thing looks up to you with those big blue eyes and smiles then my heart melts every time. What a true blessing from God.

The toy train he got for his birthday, he needs a little help riding it, but loves it.

He found a mudpuddle outside and before I could stop him he was playing in it and of course loved every minute of it.

There was that candy "fun dip" in his easter basket. John and him got into it and afterwards I told them both they looked like the Incredible Hulk.

Easter Memories!

Happy Easter to all of you. I hope you had a wonderful day at church and with family and friends. Our church was packed this morning and we had a great service. It is good to be reminded of the ultimate sacrifice our Lord made for us and that he is ALIVE!!!
Parker loved all his Easter goodies. Oh course, the balls were his favorite things but the new spinning top is also high on the list. You can see how cute he was all dressed up in his "Easter Best".

Parker's birthday party

Here are pictures from the birthday party last Sat. It was a beautiful day and all had fun. As you can see by looking at Parker's picture he was a little banged-up. He fell on the concrete the day before the party and had several war wounds. He definitely LOVED the cake and wouldn't stop eating it--I guess he is like his mother in that aspect. Thanks to all that came that day and made Parker's day special! Posted by Picasa(Click on the collage to make it larger to help with viewing)

Happy Birthday Parker

Well at 10:12pm 1 year ago today I had a beautiful baby boy---Parker. He weighed 7lbs. 1 oz.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEET LITTLE ONE!!!!!!

This year has gone by extremely fast. Most of ya'll told me this would happen, so cherish every moment of everyday.

We are staying close to home today. The big birthday party was this past Sat., I will post about it later, so today it is just us. Parker has been feeling a little under the weather as well as John and I too. I think we are all passing this crude around. We have started breathing treatments for the 1st time and what an experience that is---it is getting better though. I think Parker has just realized he has to do it so just deal.

Happy Birthday John

Today my sweet husband and as Parker says---Da,Da----turned 35!! Below is the awesome cheesecake from a great bakery in Gulfport. John isn't much of a sweet eater but the one dessert he does like is cheesecake, so he was suprised to find this in the refrigerator today.

March is a really busy month---Bryant's bday on the 8th(will blog this soon), our anniversary on the 8th, John's bday on the 12th, Parker's bday party on the 15th, Parker's actual bday on the 19th and Haden's bday on the 21st. WOW, lots of partying going on in March.

Parker loves his new car, and of course is all smiles. Everyone asks us if he is happy all the time and the answer is YES!!! You can't help but light up when you see that sweet little smile and his funny laugh will just put you over the edge. I included this picture for John's bday blog because John says Parker is a welcome sight at the end of a long workday and that smile makes it all worth while.
