Home to New Albany

On July 11th we headed to New Albany to check in on PaPa. On the way up the state we always try to stop in Jackson which helps with feeding Parker and not to mention all the lovin' he gets from his cousins! As you can see from the pictures Mary Grace LOVES him and wants to be by his side 24/7. She was helping with the pacifier and teaching him "This little light of mine"---notice the finger as her light. Bryant didn't much want to get in the pictures so even though you don't see him, he definitely gave Parker plenty of kisses as well----just not quite as obsessive as Mary Grace. We got to N.A. on Wednesday and spent the rest of the time with my parents. You can also see that Grandmother Harmon came by to get her "lovin" time with Parker too. Every night PaPa and Parker went to sleep for a cat-nap in the recliner, it was such a sweet site. Papa is doing great since his surgery, still a little weak, but getting better everyday. I know seeing the grandkids is one of the best medicines out there!!! It is truly a special bond that grandparents and grandkids have. I thank God for this awesome relationship.

Sophie's 1st Birthday Party

Stephenie Lemus, one of my old co-workers, daughter had her 1st birthday party on July 7th. Parker and I went to celebrate Sophie's BIG DAY!!! It seems like yesterday that Stephenie and Jason were getting married in Hawaii and now their precious angel is "1". It was a nice day to not only celebrate a birthday but to have all the old Health Inspectors together again.

This is Sophie the birthday girl all dressed up for her party. As if you couldn't already tell, this is mommy Stephenie holding her----they look so much alike.

Here is Kia, my other old co-worker Latanya's daughter, holding Parker. Since she has a baby brother so she is definitely an expert.

Here is Latanya and her other child, Kevin. He was "1" in February and definitely looks like his daddy.

4th of July Celebration

This was Parker's 1st - 4th of July celebration. We went to our adopted family's house for a cookout. Ms. Lynne, Melanie, Michelle and Ms. Millie are like our second family--they always include us in their activities. I really appreciate this since my family isn't close by. The relationship between Ms. Lynne and her girls, Melanie and Michelle, remind me of the relationship between me, my sister and my mom. It rained the whole day but fun was still had by all.

Ms. Lynne and Ava (Michelle's little girl). Ava is one and isn't much for having her photo taken.

This is my "All American Boy", ready to go to the cookout.
Nathan (Melanie and Michelle's brother) lovin' on Parker. He was knocked out, all the excitement put him to sleep, or maybe it was the FULL tummy.

Daddy Time

Here are my 2 favorite people: Daddy and Parker!! Parker is ready for the 4th with his patriotic outfit. John always has to get sweet lovin' before he heads off to work each morning---"someone has to bring home the bacon".
